Our team of three Alan Wallace, Christopher Horiates, and I will work like below:

UNT Department of Learning Technologies New Student Orientation (Masters level)

  • Video introduction
  • expectations of the program
  • Taking online classes – What should I be doing? (linked to Project 3 below)
  • Faculty, staff, and the chain of command in LTEC
  • Paperwork
    • Getting started
    • Degree plans
      • Suggested course sequences (prerequisite knowledge)
      • Who does my degree plan?
    • Change of degree plan
    • Filing for graduation

Clients: Faculty in LTEC, students in LTEC

Target: Higher education learning support design
The communication is not easy between group members. I made wikispace, but the conversation did not go well. Finally, one of my member suggested using the other tool: Google doc.  If we set up the place to discuss, it would be better than now.

The first thing we should do is planning.  We need to setup the time line to do the project B.

1. week 10 Analyzing +sep up the objectives

audience interview( Faculty in LTEC), survey students

task analysis- look through the previous page

First of all , we need to fix the role for each member as a writer, technologist, and project manager.

I got a problem to implement my ID because there is no volunteer instructor for this project.

My ID is for Sunday Church School, so people are not active to have new instructional design on school curriculum.

Even though I have discussed a lot with the main decision-maker, the newly designed instruction seems to be lost. I just recalled how the AWANA activity was started in the church, and I started to gather parents to join this project.

In the beginning of AWANA , it started because people had needs to support their children in reading in Sunday school and let more Dads get envolved to the church educational activities. That is how AWANA program began.

Likewise, writing program will also be able to get parents’ strong supports for their children rather than any volunteer teacher who is nothing with children’s school curricular education.

I askd several Moms and children who really want to join this project. According to survey, I had a result that students and parents have needs of this kind of instruction.

Finally I will implement my ID on next coming Sunday.  After the implementation, I will get some ideas of feedback.

According to ADDIE models, designers need to design with result of analysis.

I think designers can have solutions when he/she finish analysis because design means to connect audience’s problem to reasonable solutions. Learning objectives are pratically the solution, so we need to follow certain rule not to be lost. There are some theories for this.

According to Mager(1962) , designers put three componet objectives. In other words, Three -component objectives are verbal statements of learning outcomes that include three parts:

  • A discription of the terminal behavior or actions that will demonstrate learning.
  • A description of the conditions of demonstration of that action.
  • A desciption of the standard or criterion.

According to Romiszowski(1981), there are three parts for classifying educational aims.

  • Input statement
  • process statement
  • output statement

In conclusion, analysis is very important to write learning objectives which states exlicitly learners’ problems, processes and measurable results.
